Don't bother asking me how he knows, or thinks he knows, but Ralph Nader is quoted in the Politico as saying that Hillary Clinton will take the Vice Presidential spot.
I've always believed that one of the best ways to gauge what people believe is to listen to what comes out of the mouths of their children. And if what is coming out of the mouth of the son of US Senate candidate Bob Schaffer, we might be better off without him in office, especially with lines like "Slavery gets shit done".
I do not like to come to this site for personal advice, but it is a matter that affects not me, but the life of another person and the greater good of my neighbors with whom we share this building. You see, when you live in a big city apartment building, especially one that is downtown, you grow to care about and for your neighbors just as they do the same for you. However, the implications for one person involved are considerable and that is why I wanted to seek out opinions before making the next move.
I am one of those optimistic people who believe that Barack Obama can alter the electoral map to some extent. John McCain's money expenditures in Virginia are living proof. But for those among us who think, or want to think, that all 50 states are in play, the state of Arizona offers a dose of cold water on that notion as the latest poll gives MCain a clear and comfprtable lead there.
John McCain's strategy for the summer is to play aggrieved victim of the big bad Obama campaign (sound familiar?). As a matter of fact, according to Marc Ambinder, they were waiting for a reason to accuse Obama of using the "Race Card" charge for some time.
For better or worse, it looks like Obama's running mate is Gov. Tim Kaine. According to [Politickerhttp://www.politickermd.com/editormd/3026/virginia-gov-tim-kaine-cancels-appearance-baltimore-fundraiser], Kaine suddenly had a "scheduling conflict".
This is not a snarky diary, this is serious business and raises a legitimate question surrounding the health of the Republican nominee for president. John McCain is undergoing yet another biopsy for potential skin cancer.
Over at Talking Points Memo, Eric Kleefield may have just found the needle in the statistical haystack that could explain why McCain suddenly leads among "likely voters": They hate foreigners, especially Europeans.
